Become a Zika Care Connect Provider
Zika Care Connect is a network of healthcare specialists identified to help families affected by Zika. Specialists included in the network are able to provide clinical services for Zika and stay informed of CDC clinical guidance for managing and caring for patients with Zika.
UPDATE (8/10/18): Please note that the timeframe for Zika exposed males to wait to conceive and prevent sexual transmission of Zika virus has changed from 6 months to 3 months from their symptom onset date or last possible Zika exposure date (if asymptomatic). Updates may still be pending in some linked documents in the following pages and information may not reflect this current recommendation.
Local Case Counts
Currently, there is no mosquito-borne spread of Zika virus in Alameda County or California, and all Zika cases that have been reported have been travel-associated or spread sexually. For the total number of cases in California by county visit: CDPH Case Numbers for Zika Virus in CA.

- Recommend pregnant couples and those who are trying to conceive avoid unnecessary travel to areas where Zika is spreading
- Educate patients on the need for safe sex practices before, during and after travel
- Discuss the importance of mosquito bite prevention during and after travel
